DOHA: The Management of Environmental Monitoring at the Ministry of Environment yesterday seized a tanker while it was dumping waste of concrete mix in an open area not allocated for dumping construction waste.
Environment protection inspectors also seized a heavy vehicle roaming around in open areas, away from the road, damaging the environment.
Both cases were transferred to security agencies for investigations and legal action, Al Sharq reports.
The Management of Environmental Monitoring keeps a vigil on outside areas around, including desert areas,  round the clock to prevent any damage to local environment and the greenery.
It also removes waste and other materials damaging the environment.
It receives complaints and calls round the clock related to damage to the environment.
The agency  called on residents to dial 998 if they notice any violation of the environment protection law or encroachments on public properties, as the ministry is committed to enforcing the law strictly to protect the environment. The Peninsula
