DOHA: The 22nd meeting of the GCC Committee for Medicine Prices begins in Doha today. The four-day meeting will discuss prices of cosmetics registered in Qatar and recommendations for medicine registration by the central committee which met in Bahrain recently, said Dr Aisha Ibrahim Al Ansari, Director, Pharmacy and Drug Monitoring Department, Supreme Council of Health (SCH).
Al Ansari said the meeting will also discuss achievements of the initiative to speed up unification of lotion prices, opinion of companies and the panel’s future activities. She said the aim of unifying medicine prices is to provide quality medicines at reasonable prices.
The first and second phases of unifying medicine prices in the GCC have completed and concerned entities have begun to implement the third phase of the initiative.
