Doha: The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy confirmed that the Hayya card will be the only gateway for fans wishing to enter Qatar, during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
This came in a press conference that was held yesterday at the Four Seasons Hotel, in the presence of a group of local and international media and satellite channels. Executive Director of the Hayya platform Saeed Al Kuwari said that all those wishing to enter the country during the tournament are required to obtain a digital Hayya card, which in turn requires the purchase of a ticket to be issued.
“Fans from all over the world, including GCC nationals, will not be allowed to enter Qatar without a Hayya Card during the tournament. It will be mandatory for everyone except for citizens and residents of Qatar from beginning to the end tournament to enter the country,” he added.
Launched in March, Hayya card serves as an entry permit to the State of Qatar. In addition to allowing entry into the stadium, it makes its holder eligible for free public transportation. It will also allow fans to attend a number of activities accompanying the competition.
