Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Ministries of Municipality and Interior, carried out an inspection campaign against street vendors in the central market.
Necessary measures were taken against violators, the Ministry said.
A number of social media users praised the inspection campaigns carried out by the ministry, calling for more control over the food items sold by street vendors.
Through its account, the ministry posted a footage of an inspection campaign against street vendors. One of social media users commented, "We demand to intensify the inspection against street vendors in the Corniche because they sell foodstuffs, so we do not know where they were prepared or how they were stored."
Some of them demanded campaigns on licensed and unlicensed online businesses, especially since there is a great demand, and there are many who trade online without any license.
Others also demanded that car garages be searched.
