DOHA: Qatar dispatched two cargo flights loaded with 120 tonnes of basic relief materials like foods, medicines, tents and generators to Nepal yesterday.
Two more flights carrying additional humanitarian aid materials will be sent today, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The Permanent Committee for Rescue Works, Relief and Humanitarian Aid, which sends relief material to disaster hit countries,is headed by Lakhwiya. The committee has arranged the relief material in collaboration with the concerned authorities.
Qatar’s Rescue and Search Team at Lakhwiya is assigned to send the aid to Kathmandu Airport. The cargo will be handed over to the local authority in Nepal to distribute to the affected people.
