QRC field hospital

Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has announced to set up a field hospital (a mobile medical unit) in Nepal to help needy people. The hospital will have tents, medical equipment, medicines and around eight medical crew like doctors and paramedical staff. The services of local volunteers will be also taken to serve the purpose, reported.

The mobile medical units can work with full capacity for 30 days without any outer help. The services of these units can be extended for 100 days. 
The units have 30 to 40 beds and can provide treatments and surgeries to 30,000 people. It includes emergency unit, sterilisation unit, operation theatre for non-complicated surgeries, maternity unit, emergency lab and pharmacy.
QRC also plans to set up water and sanitary system called Equivalent Residential Units (ERUs). The system can cater to the needs of 5,000 people in emergency situation.
