Doha: As part of its social responsibility, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ organised a field visit for several school students to Doha North Sewage Treatment Plant in conjunction with Qatari Environment Day.

This visit aims to raise students’ awareness of the importance of preserving the environment and water conservation. The activities included providing mobile laboratories and highlighting Ashghal’s efforts in promoting resource sustainability through environmental solutions and innovations.

Sewage treatment plants are one of Ashghal’s most important facilities that contribute significantly to environmental sustainability and play a significant role in providing clean water suitable for green space irrigation, cooling, and many other uses. This important facility is being used to spread these important messages to school students, universities, and experts in the field.

Students participated in planting Sidr trees within the treatment plant’s environmental reserve, emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness and promoting effective participation in environmental sustainability initiatives.

The event was attended by a group of environmental experts from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Social Responsibility, and environmental sustainability activists, in addition to several Ashghal officials and engineers.
