QF’s Academic Bridge Program hosts lecture series

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Foundation’s Academic Bridge Program (ABP), part of its Pre-University Education, launched the “Inspirational Lectures Series” during the current academic year, reaffirming its commitment to enriching students’ educational experiences and connecting them with inspiring leadership journeys across academic and professional fields.

The series aims to strengthen direct engagement between students and invited guests, enabling them to benefit from their academic and professional experiences while gaining a comprehensive understanding of available academic and career opportunities. This initiative supports students’ readiness for university and helps them shape their future pathways.

As part of the series, the program hosted a distinguished group of national and academic leaders who shared their diverse expertise and professional journeys with students. These included Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie; Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Hareb Mohammed Al Jabri; and Dean of Georgetown University in Qatar, Prof. Safwan Masri (pictured).

During his session, Al Subaie highlighted his academic and professional journey spanning more than three decades across various sectors.

He reflected on key milestones in his career and shared valuable advice to support students’ academic and professional development. The session provided a rich learning experience that left a lasting positive impact on students.

The program also hosted Dr. Hareb bin Mohammed Al Jabri, who delivered a presentation on his educational and professional journey and highlighted the scholarship programs offered by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. His visit concluded with the recognition of outstanding scholarship students enrolled in the Academic Bridge Program.

In a related session, Prof. Safwan Masri led an interactive discussion with Academic Bridge Program students, sharing insights from his academic and professional journey and addressing ways to overcome challenges during the university stage.

He also introduced students to the academic options and opportunities available at Georgetown University in Qatar. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about academic programs and the skills required to become strong candidates and successful university students.
