Doha, Qatar: As part of ongoing efforts to enhance public health and limit the spread of insects, municipalities across Qatar have continued implementing intensive insect control campaigns, aimed at ensuring a safe, clean, and healthy environment for all residents.

These efforts align with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in promoting environmental sustainability and improving quality of life.

According to statistics recorded between November 14 and December 11, 2025, municipalities received a total of 8,949 requests for insect control services across the country, reflecting strong public engagement and trust in municipal services. The data highlights the scale of operations and the responsiveness of municipal teams in addressing public concerns efficiently.

In terms of geographical distribution, Doha Municipality recorded the highest number of requests with 2,185 cases, followed by Al Rayyan Municipality with 2,105 requests. Al Daayen Municipality registered 1,491 requests, while Umm Salal Municipality recorded 1,421 cases. Other municipalities also saw notable activity, including Al Wakrah with 1,046 requests, Al Khor and Al Dhakhira with 398, Al Shamal with 149, and Al Sheehaniya with 154 requests.

The statistics also reveal the diversity of service channels used by the public. A total of 5,717 requests were submitted through the “Oun” mobile application, underscoring the effectiveness of digital platforms in facilitating access to municipal services. Meanwhile, 3,107 requests were received via the Unified Contact Center, and 125 requests were submitted through the official municipal website, reflecting the availability of multiple communication channels to meet community needs.

In parallel with responding to service requests, municipalities continued to carry out preventive spraying campaigns across residential neighbourhoods, public spaces, and high-risk areas. These efforts were supported by ongoing community awareness initiatives, aimed at educating the public on best practices to reduce insect breeding and prevent infestations.

Additionally, municipalities actively promoted the insect and rodent control request service through the “Oun” application. These integrated efforts demonstrate the commitment of Qatar’s municipalities to proactive public health protection, rapid response to community needs, and sustainable environmental management.
