Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held yesterday a round of official talks with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu. Chief Negotiator for the Syrian Opposition Riyad Hijab attended the meeting as well.
They discussed the latest developments in Syria, particularly in the East of Aleppo. They also discussed the outcomes of meetings in Ankara and Moscow. The meeting also focused on coordinating efforts to provide humanitarian aid to civilians in areas under siege and other Syrian cities.
The two sides exchanged views on the future of the Syrian crisis and the means to find a political solution in line with Geneva 1 and UN Security Council resolutions related to it.
The two sides also reiterated their commitment to supporting the Syrian people. They also stressed on the importance of reaching a permanent ceasefire and guaranteeing the safety of civilians in line with international resolutions.
