Governor of Qatar Central Bank, H E Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al Thani met yesterday with Brian Nelson, US Department of the Treasury’s Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, along with the accompanying delegation currently visiting the country. During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations in banking and finance and the means of consolidating them.
The Governor of Qatar Central Bank affirmed the State of Qatar’s firm and ongoing commitment to combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism in all its aspects. He also expressed that the State of Qatar will continue to cooperate closely and exchange experiences with the United States in this field. For his part, the US Department of the Treasury’s Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, commended the State of Qatar’s ongoing efforts to combat money laundering and terrorist financing crimes, as well as the continuous coordination between the two countries in this respect.
