QC reviews enhancing cooperation with Turkiye’s Izmir Chamber

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar and Turkish Izmir chambers discussed means to enhance cooperation links between both sides and activate trade and investment exchanges between both sides, as well as explore the investment climate in both Qatar and Izmir.

This came during a meeting held recently at the Qatar Chamber’s premises between QC First Vice-Chairman, Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari, and Adnan Bozbay, a member of the 49 Assembly of Real Estate Activities Group at Izmir Chamber.

The meeting was attended by Muhammet Fatih, the Commercial Counsellor at the Turkish Embassy to the State, Gülçin Okay, Vice President of the Professional Committee of Real Estate, Aykut Terzioğlu, Director of the Fair Division, Erdem Alptekin, the Economist expert, and Korhan Özseçen, a Member of the Izmir Chamber of Commerce.

Speaking at the meeting, Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari praised the bilateral relations between Qatar and Turkiye across all fields. He emphasised the significance of bolstering cooperation between the business sectors of both countries to further develop their trade volume. Last year, the trade volume reached QR8.1bn, compared to QR6.8bn in 2021, marking an 18 percent growth and solidifying Turkiye as one of the most crucial trade partners for Qatar.

He highlighted the success of mutual investments in both countries and urged businessmen from both sides to further expand these investments. Additionally, he extended an invitation to Turkish companies to visit the ‘Made in Qatar’ expo scheduled to take place in Doha from November 29 to December 2.

For his part, Adnan Bozbay praised the close relations between Qatar and Turkiye, affirming the readiness of Izmir Chamber to enhance cooperation with Qatar Chamber across all fields. He invited Qatar Chamber and Qatari businessmen to visit Izmir to get acquainted with the investment climate and opportunities available there.
