COLOMBO: Left-armed spin bowler Milinda Siriwardana broke a threatening second-wicket partnership Monday as the West Indies went to lunch at 112-4 chasing 244 on the fifth day of the second test against Sri Lanka.
Darren Bravo and Shai Hope shared 60 runs for the second wicket before Siriwardana had Hope (35) stumped by Kusal Perera.
The West Indies resumed the final day on 20-1 after entire fourth day's play was abandoned due to rain.
Bravo and Hope made an aggressive start to the day before the Sri Lankan spinners took their toll and brought the hosts back into the match.
Bravo scored his 13th test half century and was unbeaten on 55 at the break with Denesh Ramdin on four. Bravo's runs came off 92 balls with three boundaries and two sixes.
Marlon Samuels (6) was earlier caught at slip by Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews off spinner Dilruwan Perera and Jermaine Blackwood (4) was trapped lbw by Siriwardana.
Siriwardana finished the session with figures of 2-17. Sri Lanka leads the two-match series 1-0.
