Qatar, Bahamas ink air services agreement

Doha, Qatar: Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation of the Bahamas, H E Isaac Chester Cooper yesterday signed an air services agreement between Qatar and the Bahamas.

The agreement comes in the context of connecting Qatar with air services agreements that open airspaces for the national carrier to fly to more destinations around the world.

Following the signing, Al Sulaiti held talks with Cooper; Minister for Grand Bahama, Ginger Moxey; and Minister of State in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Zane Lightbourne and discussed aspects of Qatari-Bahamian cooperation in areas of transportation, civil aviation, marine navigation and ports, and ways to further develop them. Mohamed Faleh Alhajri, in charge of managing the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Vice President of the Senate, Senator Barry Griffin; Director of Aviation, Dr. Kenneth Romer; Bahamas Non-Resident Ambassador to Qatar H E Tony Joudi, and several Bahamian officials accompanying the Bahamian delegation, were also in attendance.
