Katara Summer Camp to receive second batch next week

Doha, Qatar: In an atmosphere that combines fun and entertainment, more than 40 children are participating in the Katara Summer Camp for the third day in a row, whereby they have attended a variety of workshops, lectures, and educational, recreational and sports activities.

Next Sunday, the camp will receive a new group of participating children, with the aim of providing the opportunity for the largest possible number of children to participate and benefit from the camp.

For his part, the trainer, Omran Al Kuwari, in-charge of the performance at the Nomas Centre, praised the children’s interest and enthusiasm in learning this original art. He stressed that the presented workshop not only teaches Arda children, but also informs them of its values, principles and rules.

Sheikh Muhammad Makki, an imam and preacher at the Katara Mosque, said, “This camp constitutes an important opportunity to promote correct behaviour and sound education derived from the values, principles and pillars of our religion. I have noticed that the participating children interact positively, which shows their enthusiasm and readiness. This confirms the importance of this camp and its educational and awareness role.”

Meanwhile, parents praised Katara’s efforts in organising the camp during the summer holidays in particular, especially the quality of the workshops and lectures that were presented,as they confirmed that they contribute to the development of their children’s minds, knowledge and experiences, in addition to enriching their knowledge with the teachings of their true religion. This is in addition to practising sports such as football and beach volleyball.

The third day’s programme included a visit to the Al Thuraya Planetarium, where the participants took a tour inside the dome and enjoyed watching a 3D movie entitled ,“The Astronaut.” They also toured the headquarters of the Al Gannas Association to learn about falcons and hunting, which contribute to increasing their knowledge and developing their skills in this regard.

At the end of the last day of the first week of the camp, the participating children were honoured.

It is worth noting that the activities of the camp for the second week will begin next Sunday with a new group of participants.

The activities will include the participation of the Al Jazeera Media Institute, where it will present a series of workshops on video making and personality styles, in addition to the participation of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Qatar Red Crescent, the Shooting Sports Club and the Nomas Centre.
