Doha: Qatari Forum for Authors discussed the topic of Arabic language specialisation from Bachelor’s to doctorate degrees as part of the third episode of the “Your Languages” initiative presented by the forum on a weekly basis.

The new episode of the initiative, presented by Qatari writer and media man Dr. Abdullah Faraj Al Marzouqi and moderated by linguistic expert Dr. Ahmed Al Janabi, shed light on the history of the Arabic language department at Qatar University, where most of the attention was paid to the Arabic language in the seventies, eighties and nineties, in contrast to the current time, which was reflected at the graduate level with so many linguistic errors appearing and sometimes due to finding modern technologies easy.

In the same context, Al Marzouqi praised the efforts and initiatives of Qatar University currently leading in promoting the Arabic language, especially at the master’s level, with the aim of deepening specialised research in the field of Arabic language and literature, which works to expand the horizons of knowledge among students, and prepare competent researchers in depth in their Arabic and Islamic culture, and intellectuals open to the developments of contemporary culture to meet the functional and research needs of society.
