DOHA: Travellers to India would be able to apply for visas online from July 1, the Indian embassy said in a statement yesterday.
Those intending to visit India for tourist, business and other purposes can access the Government of India website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in to fill up application forms.
Applicants should fill in details in the form and upload their recent photographs. A printout of the filled-in form signed by the applicant and two copies of the photograph are required to be submitted in person along with fee, photocopy of ID card and other documents as per information on the website – www.indianembassyqatar.gov.in. Applicant’s passport should be at least valid for six months from the date of travel.
Consular Section at the embassy is open between 8am and 11.15am on all working days.
Visas for Qataris and non–Qataris having valid residence permit would normally be issued the same day.
The embassy said it may take at least three to four working days in cases of non-Qataris who do not hold a valid residence permit in Qatar. For a few categories of non-Qataris the processing time is longer and the consular section would guide applicants.
The period of validity of visa begins from the date of issue. The embassy reserves the right to refuse visa without assigning any reasons.
