DOHA: Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q)has concluded its year-long Executive and Professional Education programme series with 755 participants.
The programme is a series of courses during which faculty their expertise in various disciplines. Courses are offered to organisations with which CMU-Q has built strategic partnerships.
Among the participants this academic year, 415 were from the government sector and 340 from the private sector. Participants represented more than 30 organisations in Qatar.
Courses, at CMU-Q campus cover various disciplines to provide organisations with tools to better their business areas. As the first programme of its kind within the universities at Education City, participants are able to pursue courses within faculty areas of expertise.
Areas of focus included quality, innovation, service and leadership, decisionmaking in organisations, e-business strategies, business strategy and tactics, design for management and organisational change, data-driven computer security, informing business decisions through market research, and cloud computing.
Led by Thomas Emerson, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Director of Executive and Professional Education, and Benjamin Collier, Assistant Teaching Professor, Organisational Behaviour, and Co-director, Executive and Professional Education, the programme continues to grow, ensuring that topics reflect local business trends and objectives.
