As the Veloso family visited Mary Jane in Nusa Kambangan Island on April 25, 2015 – assisted by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) personnel from the Office of Migrant Workers’ Affairs (OUMWA) and from the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta – Mary Jane handed over four handwritten letters addressed to President Benigno S. Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar Binay, the Filipino youth and Filipino women, and to those responsible for what happened to her.

In a post at http://president.gov.ph/, Veloso’s letter to Binay reiterated her innocence of the crime she was charged with; that she is an innocent victim. Mary Jane said that only President Aquino and Vice President Binay can help her. She added that she knows that President Aquino, as the father of the Philippines, is continuing his efforts to help save her from the death penalty.

She ended this letter by expressing her hope that justice will prevail in what happened to her and expressed her thanks to all her countrymen who are willing to help her, the Embassy of the Philippines in Jakarta, the DFA who is handling her case, the lawyers handling her case and everybody who are helping and praying for her, even those who are not Filipinos.

For the youth, Mary Jane admonished them not to involve themselves in drugs and other illegal activities as this can ruin their lives and education.

For her fellow women who want to work abroad, Mary Jane said to follow the legal procedure and use a legitimate employment agency. Mary Jane said that she hoped that those responsible for what happened to her will be bothered by their conscience.
