QatarDebate have arranged for several social media competitions during the tournament in addition to the announcement of a competition on Twitter which was launched on the 19th of this month. It is sponsored by Ispot for the second year, targeting QatarDebate fans on social media.
Preparations leading up to the Championship have been  immense and well in advance. Nazar Mukhtar, Debate Coach at QatarDebate, said that the training workshops for the coaches of different teams participating in the championship began in November 2014. Forty two coaches were trained from most of the universities that are participating for the first time in the championship.
Mukhtar added that QatarDebate do not interfere in the selection of coaches, rather the participating universities are the ones who choose the coaches and the role of QatarDebate is to then provide training and follow-up.
