Canadian Embassy has received the CSR leadership award in recognition of its contributions at a ceremony hosted by Qatar University to launch the CSR Report, ‘The National Book’ - Qatar 2016. The award ceremony was held in the presence of HE Salah bin Ghanim Al Ali, Minister of Culture and Sports, who received the “CSR person of the Year” award.
Adrian Norfolk, the Ambassador, received the award from Dr Hasan Al Derham, President of Qatar University. Norfolk highlighted in an article in the CSR Report 2016 its contributions to the community over the past year. “The Embassy of Canada plays a significant role in the field of social responsibility and cooperates with the Qatari society in many areas, particularly in the education and health sectors. This successful role is part of the bilateral relationship between Canada and Qatar, which enjoys a growing partnership based on commercial, security and people-to-people cooperation between the two countries."
Canada established its embassy in Qatar in 2012 in order to facilitate the growing activities between the two countries, to provide consular services to the growing Canadian population (there are now more than 9000 Canadians living and working in Qatar).
