Doha Modern Indian School won many prizes at the ‘World Scholar’s Cup’ held recently at the Qatar National Convention Centre. Two teams represented the school in the competition, which consisted of four rounds – collaborative writing, scholar’s challenge, debate and scholar’s round. The team comprising of Anugraha Arun (grade 10), Abdullah Mohammed Yousuf (grade 12) and Dheeraj Reddy Pailla (grade 12) won the first position in collaborative writing and debate, gold medal for Scholar’s Bowl and the best rookie team award. The team secured 4 trophies and over 30 medals. Yousuf won the second individual position in collaborative writing and Pailla bagged a gold medal for the Scholar’s Bowl, picked as the Best Speaker in the debate and was the third best scholar of the senior division exhibiting exemplary performance. The two teams finished second among all the senior division teams and qualified to represent Qatar at the Global Round in Malaysia on June 15, 2015.
