Doha, Qatar: The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has announced the completion of its operational and technical preparations to receive zakat payments during the holy month of Ramadan 2026.

The department confirmed that it has activated a comprehensive collection system combining advanced digital platforms with field-based collection points, ensuring the highest standards of security and reliability under its Ramadan campaign.

Marwa Ahmed Al Binali, Head of the Collection and Zakat Accounts Section, said the department has implemented a full operational plan to meet the expected increase in demand during the holy month.

The plan includes expanding service capacity, extending working hours, and reinforcing collection and customer service teams.

She noted that Ramadan represents the peak zakat season, as many donors prefer to fulfill this pillar of Islam during the blessed month in pursuit of multiplied rewards. The department’s preparations, she said, are designed to ensure that individuals and companies can perform their zakat obligations smoothly and with complete confidence that their contributions are reaching beneficiaries through approved and regulated channels.

Al Binali highlighted that zakat can be paid electronically around the clock through the department’s official website and mobile application. The digital services enable donors to calculate their zakat accurately and complete payments securely and conveniently. Direct bank transfers to approved accounts are also available.

She explained that the digital user experience has been further enhanced to provide a more seamless and efficient process. Multiple electronic payment options are supported, and instant notifications are issued upon successful completion of transactions, reinforcing trust and ensuring accurate documentation. These improvements reflect the campaign’s core message that zakat is a trust that must be handled with integrity and care.
