The Ministry of Economy and Commerce will hold a draw for allotment of 119 commercial plots for development of multi-use facilities at logistic areas in Al Wakrah, Birkat Al Awamir and Aba Salil on February 27 at Ritz Carton Hotel.
The eligible applications have surpassed the number of plots prepared for allotment and therefore the Ministry has decided to pick the winners through a draw, said a statement.
The eligible candidates were notified through a text message to attend the raffle.
Manateq, the organising company, received about 878 applications online through its website.
All applications were studied to check whether they comply with the terms and conditions, said the Ministry.
These commercial plots provide opportunities to the investors to participate in the development of business sector in these areas by building showrooms, commercial shops, clinics, banks, eateries among other facilities.
The move came within the framework of the commitment of the committee to begin procedures for handing over lands at logistic areas in Al Wakrah, Berkat Al Awamir and Aba Salil to investors so they could start the construction.
It will help begin operation in logistic areas slated to be opened in mid 2018.
