Iran extends election voting by two hours

Tehran: Iran extended voting in the country's parliamentary and Assembly of Experts elections by two hours on Friday after reports from across the country that more time was needed.

The polls will now close at 8:00 pm (1630 GMT), an interior ministry statement said. Long lines at polling stations in Tehran and other cities had earlier been reported and people were still queing up to vote close to the original 6:00 pm deadline.
