Doha: Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation "KAHRAMAA," through its National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency "Tarsheed," has launched the ninth edition of Tarsheed Carnival 2026 at the KAHRAMAA Awareness Park, under the theme "Consume Efficiently for a Sustainable Future." The event will run until 30 January 2026.
The carnival aims to build a conscious and responsible community that contributes to preserving natural resources for future generations.
It underscores a clear message: meaningful change begins with everyday behaviors, and the collective efforts of the community and KAHRAMAA are essential steps toward a more efficient and sustainable future.
On this occasion, Head of Community Awareness and Development at the Department of Conservation and Energy Efficiency, Muhannad Al Yafei stated: "Resource efficiency is no longer a choice - it is a shared responsibility that begins with the individual and extends to families, institutions, and society as a whole. Tarsheed Carnival 2026 serves as an interactive platform bringing together government entities, private sector partners, and civil society organizations. It offers a diverse array of educational, awareness, and entertainment activities designed to engage all age groups and transform sustainability concepts from slogans into tangible daily practices."
He added: "We firmly believe that community partnership is fundamental to driving change. Through this event, we aspire to inspire visitors, strengthen the culture of responsible resource consumption, and support the nation's vision for a more sustainable future for generations to come."
As one of Qatar's leading sustainability and environmental awareness events, Tarsheed Carnival 2026 highlights the efforts of public institutions and the private sector in embedding sustainability practices across society, promoting efficient electricity and water consumption, and supporting the transition toward clean energy - all aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Several government and private entities are participating in the Tarsheed Carnival 2026.
The Carnival daily program features a variety of activities aimed at promoting sustainable practices, including dedicated sections on clean energy, environmental sustainability, and efficient electricity and water use.
Visitors can also participate in interactive and educational workshops on best practices and recycling. The carnival further offers stage performances, competitions, and an awareness play highlighting the impact of wasteful behaviors on the environment.
