MES anniversary gala mesmerises audience

MES Indian School, the largest expatriate school in Qatar, celebrated the 38th Annual Day, titled “Mesmerise”, on November 22-23, at the open air auditorium.

“MES is the mother of all the Indian schools in Qatar and is promoting friendship between India and Qatar”, exalted Sanjiv Arora, Ambassador of India to Qatar, Chief Guest of the opening day, while making the key note address. 

Lieutenant Colonel, Fahad Shareeda Al Abdulla, the Traffic Awareness Officer, Qatar, the Guest of Honour, said that he was immensely impressed by the Governing Body of MES. He advised the students to learn and obey the traffic rules and regulations. Hamad Al Mary, First Secretary Office of the Directorate of Private Schools and Maryam Al Kuwari, Directorate of Private Schools also graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour with their presence.

“MES has been set up to impart quality education to all the children of the Indian expatriate community irrespective of region, language, beliefs and culture,” said Principal A P Sasidharan,  while presenting the annual report featuring the major achievements and activities of the school in 2012.

The high achievers of the school including toppers in class XII, X CBSE and CBSE i-X and Kerala Board Examinations of March 2012 and the students who secured A1 and 100 percent marks in any subject were also honoured with gold medals, certificates and cash awards. 

Major Ghanem Al Khayareen, Head of Community Police, Capital Police Station, Chief Guest of the closing day, while addressing the audience, congratulated the school management for running efficiently and professionally, a large school like MES. He also unveiled the modified official website of the school.

Ahmed Abdullah Al Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Barwa Group, Guest of Honour, appreciated the efforts of MES Management for providing quality education since its inception. First Lieutenant Khalifa Al Mubarak Al Kaabi, Head, Community Police, while felicitating the occasion appreciated the management and staff for facilitating and imparting quality education to the pupils.

The cultural mega extravaganza consisting of a variety of vibrant dances, multi-lingual dramas, mimes and skits representing the tradition of Qatar and Indian art and culture and thematic programmes, facilitated with the support of LED screen, lifted the audience into an ethereal world of entertainment.

On the occasion, the members of the school Governing Body, Principals of the other expatriate schools, parents, Alumni and school officials graced the day with their presence. The two day annual celebrations which witnessed over 25000 spectators, imprinted in the annals of MES Indian School.
