Doha, Qatar: Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani issued on Tuesday Ministerial Decision No. 56 of 2026 on the Executive Regulations of the Law Regulating the Auditing Profession, reinforcing the organization of the profession and advancing its practices in line with the highest standards of quality and transparency.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry said in a statement that the regulations cover registration requirements for the Auditors Register, professional training requirements, and the responsibilities of accounting firms and auditors supervising trainees.
It also stated that the decision will contribute to enhancing professional competence and the continued development of the auditing profession in Qatar.
Among the requirements for registration in the Auditors Register are obtaining an accredited university degree in accounting, passing the qualifying examination, and meeting the required practical experience based on academic qualification.
The regulations also place special emphasis on professional training, which requires that training hours must not be less than 100 hours per month, the training period must range from one to three years depending on the academic qualification, and the training must cover company audits, tax report preparation, financial data analysis, and the use of electronic auditing software.
The regulations also require accounting firms and auditors supervising the training to comply with strict standards, including maintaining detailed records of the trainees' work and training hours, assigning a direct supervisor to each trainee, and submitting quarterly evaluation reports to the competent department.
