Doha: The registration phase for the participation in the 27th session of the Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani Holy Quran Competition at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs closes today.
The organising committee of the competition urged those wishing to participate to quickly register on the last day of this stage, at the Imam Mohammed bin Abdul Wahhab Mosque from 8am to 12.30pm and from 4pm to 8pm.
It noted that the number of registered participants for the two groups of the competition is around 1,300.
The organising committee is keen to attract the largest number of citizens and residents to participate in this competition, as it has allocated valuable financial rewards to all winners in the categories and for children.
Contestants in the categories have the right to repeat the same category in which they won in the previous sessions, or to participate in a category higher than it.
And those who have been absent from the competition for three years or more are entitled to participate in one category lower than the highest level they won.
Meanwhile, males and females, citizens and residents, compete in the children's branch of the competition in memorising one part of the last five parts of the Quran.
