Doha: The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, represented by the Department of Radiation and Chemicals Protection, held two training courses at the Customs Training Centre in Mesaieed on the control of dual-use goods.
The first workshop included the activation of the strategic materials control system, instructing trainees the risks related to nuclear and radioactive materials, and technical means of detecting them, while the second workshop covered the classification of hazardous chemicals, methods of safe handling, inspection skills on dual-use chemicals, and introducing customs risks related to them.
The two workshops came in the framework of cooperation between the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the General Authority of Customs to qualify the Authority’s employees to inspect hazardous materials at the customs ports of the State.
