Doha, Qatar: The Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (QICCA), affiliated with Qatar Chamber, organized a specialized seminar titled “Arbitration and Expertise in Light of Practical Practices in the State of Qatar” at Qatar Chamber’s headquarters in Lusail, with the participation of a select group of experts and specialists in the fields of law, engineering, and accounting.

The seminar aimed to shed light on the latest professional practices in arbitration, the role of technical expertise in supporting procedures for resolving commercial disputes, and the practical experiences adopted in the State of Qatar, in a way that contributes to enhancing the business environment and strengthening the principles of justice and transparency. Panelists during the seminar.

The seminar featured the participation of Eng. Mohammed Al Kuwari, Board Member of the Qatar Society of Engineers; Asma Al Ghanim, Board Member of the Qatar Lawyers Association; and Maryam Mohammed Al Malik, Vice President of the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants. They delivered specialized presentations addressing the roles of experts in their respective fields and their connection to arbitration procedures.

During the seminar, the speakers emphasized the importance of integration between legal and technical aspects in arbitration cases. They noted that the presence of qualified experts significantly contributes to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of dispute resolution and enhances investors’ confidence in Qatar’s business environment.

For his part, Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali Al Thani, Vice Chairman of the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration, affirmed the Center’s commitment to organizing such events on an ongoing basis, as they aim to promote the culture of arbitration and develop local competencies in line with international best practices.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the floor was opened for discussion among attendees to exchange views and experiences, providing a valuable opportunity for dialogue among specialists and enriching the discussion on the challenges and opportunities related to arbitration and expertise in the State of Qatar.
