Doha: Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani issued a ministerial decision to form a working group for government fiber optic network projects.
The group is headed by Public Works Authority (Ashghal) President Nasser bin Ali Al Mawlawi. Members include Brigadier Saleh Khamis Al Kubaisi, Director-General, Information Systems, Ministry of Interior; Ahmed Salman Al Sulaiti, CEO, Qatar National Broadband Network; Colonel Mohammed Majid Al Sulaiti, Head, Security Department, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy; Major Jassim Abdulrahim Al Sayed; Director, Security Systems, Ministry of Interior; Engineer Nasser Ali Al Mohannadi, Director, Shared Services, Kahramaa; and Sultan Al Amari, Director, Information Systems, Ministry of Transport. The group will prepare an inventory of current and future projects to implement fiber-optic networks, identify those concerned with implementation, review integration between authorities, and develop policies, standards and programmes to unify efforts, reduce costs and secure organisation and operation of networks.
