Ankara: Contemporary Qatari Art Exhibition featuring 46 works representing three generations of Qatari artists in the Turkish capital Ankara ends today. It is being held by the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage as part of Qatar Turkey 2015 Year of Culture.
The expo included a brief presentation on the fine arts movement in Qatar and technical experiments by artist Yusuf Ahmed, during which he reviewed the process of art and its development in the state and factors that helped elevate the art movement.
Twenty-two Qatari artists are participating in the expo.
The exhibition’s opening ceremony last month was attended by Qatari Ambassador Salem bin Mubarak Al Shafi, Undersecretary of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism Haluk Dursun, heads of foreign missions and organisations and Turkish officials and artists.
