SEOUL: Airlines have presented plans to cancel nearly four-thousand flights since the outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in South Korea.
The South Korean Ministry of Transport said in a report that it has received requests from airlines to cancel 3,389 international flights planned for June and July.
As a result, flights have decreased by 10.7 percent during the two-month period, compared to the initial plans.
From June through October, airlines have cancelled 4,044 more international flights, reducing flight operations by five percent, reports QNA.
About 88 percent of the cancelled flights were bound for China.
