Doha, Qatar: In a significant step towards digital transformation and enhancing government operational efficiency, the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB) has successfully automated the calculation of end-of-service gratuity within the Mawared human resources system.

The initiative, announced yesterday on CGB’s social media accounts, aligns with Qatar’s National Vision 2030 objectives of building a modern, efficient, and citizen-centric public sector. By integrating this service into the Mawared platform, the Bureau aims to streamline internal processes, reduce administrative burdens, and ensure greater accuracy in financial entitlements for government employees.

According to the CGB, the automation enables the system to calculate gratuity entitlements automatically based on verified job data registered in the system. This is done in full compliance with the Civil Service Human Resources Law and the complete directives issued by the competent authorities. The new feature generates detailed supporting reports that facilitate review and approval procedures, significantly minimising manual intervention.

Officials highlighted that the automation will accelerate processing times dramatically. Infographics released by the Bureau indicate that the new system can deliver complete reports in as little as five minutes, representing a 90 percent reduction in processing time compared to previous manual procedures. This improvement is expected to benefit thousands of government employees transitioning between positions or concluding their service.

The move reflects the Bureau’s ongoing commitment to developing digital services and raising the efficiency of internal operations.

“This automation contributes to speeding up procedures, enhancing calculation accuracy, and unifying the processing mechanism according to approved controls,” the CGB stated. It provides employees and HR departments with a more reliable and transparent experience.

Mawared, the integrated human capital management system used across government entities, continues to evolve as a central pillar of Qatar’s digital government strategy. The platform already handles various HR functions, and the addition of automated gratuity calculation further consolidates its role in supporting seamless workforce management.

The CGB encouraged government entities to utilise the new feature and provide feedback to support continuous improvement. Employees nearing the end of their service or involved in HR processes are advised to coordinate with their respective departments to benefit from the enhanced system.
