Thiruvananthapuram--CPI (M) on Monday demanded the resignation of Kerala Finance Minister K M Mani after the polygraph test on one of the eye witnessed substantiated his statement that Mani had accepted a brief case containing currency from bar hotel owners’ association representative.
CPI (M) state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said, “Mani should go. If he is not willing to quit, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy should sack his cabinet colleague. Otherwise, the Governor should intervene to ensure the exit of Mani.’’
Balakrishnan said Mani should be subjected to polygraph test as the eye-witness Ambili, driver of bar baron Biju Ramesh, had deposed before the Vigilance that he had seen bar hotel owners association president Rajkumar Unni handing over a brief case containing currency to the minister.
He said the based the evidence substantiating the bar bribery charges, Mani should be made an accused in the case. The investigation should not be protracted to help Mani, he said.
