The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday confirmed that the family of Mary Jane Veloso has received a notice letter on Veloso’s impending execution in Indonesia.

DFA spokesperson Charles Jose however said there was no scheduled date indicated in the letter on when the execution will take place.

“Prosecutor gave notice letter to the family of Mary Jane informing them of impending execution but there’s no date indicated when it will be done,” Jose said.

“Prosecutor does not know exact date of execution,” he said.

He said it will be the Indonesia’s Attorney General’s Office (AGO) which will announce the execution date.

Jose however said that despite the notice letter, the 72-hour countdown for the execution has not yet started.

“It will be begin from the date that the AGO will announce,” Jose said.

Meanwhile, Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. said President Aquino will make a final appeal to Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.

President Aquino will be in Malaysia from April 26 to 28, 2015 for the 26th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi.
