Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called Tuesday for resolving conflicts through dialogue and negotiation, rejecting the use of force to address regional tensions.
This came during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, during which they discussed developments in the region.
Wang Yi reaffirmed his country's position on the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of states and working towards a ceasefire and achieving regional stability.
Earlier, Zhai Jun, the Chinese government's special envoy for Middle East affairs, urged, in a press conference following the conclusion of his visit to the Middle East, greater efforts to prevent the spread and escalation of hostilities in the region by returning to diplomatic means to resolve tensions.
