Ministry honours 34 agriculture investors

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has honored 34 outstanding farm owners, livestock breeders and fishing vessels owner, in recognition of their efforts to support the local agricultural product.

Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi handed commemorative shields to these outstanding local producers, on the margin of the Fifth Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition, which is currently held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

This is in line with the Ministry's keenness to enhance the key role played by the Qatari agricultural producers to contribute to the achievement of sustainable agricultural development in the country and to serve the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The ceremony was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Sheikh Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Head of the Exhibition steering committee. 

The agricultural sector is one of the most important economic sectors entrusted with achieving food security in the state.
