Community spirit was celebrated in full as ACS Doha International School hosted its Family Fun Day. The event brought together approximately 1500 ACS Doha students and their families and 85 ACS Doha staff to enjoy a day filled with fun activities, food and performances.
The theme for this year’s Family fun Day was ‘Wild Wild West’, encouraging the ACS community to participate by dressing up in the theme. The school entrance showcased a unique visual art display demonstrating the collaborative spirit at ACS Doha, including co-curricular activities across the lower, middle and high schools.
A wide range of activities were also organised by the Parent School Organisation (PSO) to liven up this year’s theme and enable students of all ages to participate in, including a petting zoo with ponies, ring toss, gold-mining, wagon and horse races, sack races, arts and crafts, a dunk tank, a photo booth, bouncy castles, a mechanical ball, face-painting and balloon twisting. Participants also had the opportunity of enjoying live performances by members of the talented ACS Doha community.
As part of ACS Doha’s endeavour to ‘give back’ to the community, a special charity corner was also set up for Family Fun Day for students and their families to donate pet supplies. The school is committed to supporting the Qatar Animal Welfare Society (QAWS) with all proceeds from Family Fun Day donated to QAWS.
Steve Calland-Scoble, Head of School at ACS Doha, said: “In addition to encouraging learning through the regular curriculum, we continuously challenge and inspire our students through ‘outside the classroom’ activities that bring the entire ACS community together at occasions such as Family Fun Day.’
