Doha, Qatar: Qatar Chamber board member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli stated that Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco share robust relations, which could enable the private sectors on both sides to establish commercial alliances and partnerships. These collaborations would contribute to the development of trade and enhance economic and commercial cooperation for the benefit of both economies.

Al Obaidli urged Moroccan companies to explore the Qatari investment climate and opportunities available in various sectors. He noted that the Qatar Chamber is eager to encourage Qatari businessmen and companies to explore the abundant opportunities in Morocco.

This was revealed at the opening of the Moroccan Economic Week, which kicked off yesterday, at the Torch Hotel.

The opening ceremony was organized by the Moroccan Exporters Association (MEA) in cooperation with the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Exports Development (MADIE) and Qatar Chamber.

The event was also attended by Sonia Mezzour, Vice-President of the MEA, and HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Doha Mohamed Setri.

In his remarks, H E Mohamed Setri, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Doha, expressed that the economic relations between the two countries have witnessed significant development in recent years. He highlighted numerous Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements signed between them to promote trade. Additionally, there has been an exchange of trade missions between both sides.

Setri emphasized the crucial role the private sector on both sides can play in enhancing economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries.

In her statement, Sonia Mezzour emphasized that the Moroccan Economic Week provides a platform for the MEA to strengthen partnerships with the Qatari side. It facilitates participants in establishing economic alliances and joint ventures with Qatari businessmen, promoting Moroccan products in the Qatari market, and leveraging the convergence between both nations in several sectors, including energy, agriculture, and tourism.

After the inauguration ceremony, the participants took a tour of the exhibition accompanying the Moroccan Economic Week, where they were briefed on products from 15 Moroccan companies in the sectors of foodstuffs, cosmetics, textiles, and building materials.

Al Obaidli urged exhibitors to explore the needs of the Qatari market and establish partnerships with their Qatari counterparts, praising the quality of the displayed items.
