THE General Authority of Customs will mark International Customs Day today and will showcase its talent as well as remarkable achievement in a ceremony at Doha Sheraton.
Annually held on January 26, International Customs Day (ICD) recognises the role of custom officials and agencies in maintaining border security. It also focuses on the working conditions and challenges that customs officers face in their jobs.
The General Authority of Customs will organise a number of diverse activities in the event to promote authority’s mission. An event themed “Data Analysis for Effective Border Management,” will be held to discuss ways of use of data and information to further develop existing mechanisms and to facilitate customs procedures.
