Doha, Qatar: Time is running out to experience Portals in Flux, the culminating exhibition of the ninth Artist-in-Residence (AIR) programme at Fire Station. The showcase will officially close on  December 31, 2025 at the Garage Gallery.

Portals in Flux explores the concept of movement and transformation. The exhibition brings together works across diverse media that reflect on crossing thresholds—physical, emotional, and conceptual. From desert landscapes and celestial forms to intimate domestic spaces, the works bend the viewer’s sense of time and space, exploring the deep interplay between memory and materiality.

More than just a final showcase, this exhibition serves as a living archive of the artistic journey. It marks the conclusion of a world-class residency initiative that provides Qatar’s creative community with the mentorship and curatorial guidance needed to push artistic boundaries. Each artwork serves as a portal, inviting visitors to see the world from a fresh perspective born within the residency’s walls.

The 15 participating artists represent a diversity of nationalities and disciplines, including Alaa Albarazy (Syria), Alexandrine Guerin (France), Salha Al Subaiei (Qatar), Reem Al Shamari (Qatar), Sara Al Naimi (Qatar), Surabhi Gaikwad (India), Galyiah Al Mohannadi (Qatar), Lolwa Al Meghaiseeb (Qatar), Khalid Alarabi (Sudan), Reham Mohamed (Sudan), Naima Al Majdobah (Jordan), John Vendetti (Canada), Fae Siddiqui (Pakistan), Natalia Mejia (Colombia), and Nada Elkharashi (Egypt).
