With National Day around the corner, expat photographers in Qatar had joined hands to put up a community exhibition to showcase the beauty of Qatar through their lens.

Bosco Menezes a long-term Qatar resident and famous photojournalist along with prominent Palestinian photographer Nabil Darwish and popular Pakistani photographer Ibrar Kunri organised the exhibition on November 17 and 18 at Fraser Suites.

The exhibition featured the works of photographers from different nationalities based in Qatar who joined together to portray the beauty of Qatar.

The exhibition featured work of 17 photographers settled in Doha - Bosco Menezes, Nabil Darwish, Ibrar Kunri, Zita Holubova, Hasan Zaidi, Junaid Ek, Ahmed Magdy, Vinay Swaroop Balla, Meghna Shirish Iyer, Dionne Lobo Marks, Palwasha Rehman Wazir, Mohammad Muslim, Mazhar Rizvi, Najla Nabil, Ahmed Naazim, Shehar Bano Rizvi and Ijas Muhammed.

Bosco stated, “It is our first community photo exhibition. I thought it would be easy but it wasn’t very easy, that’s why I bought in two maverick photographers in this, Nabil and Ibrar who are amazing photographers. I am overwhelmed with the response we got to our first community expo, it has been an honour and pleasure to be part of this amazing project.”

In over 18 years of portrait photography and visual storytelling in countries all around the world, Nabil said that it is not often that you see a community come together behind their visual lenses to actually portray the beauty of where they are. "To see this in the eyes of these young photographers that are really passionate about what they do, gives me pride to actually be a photographer and to actually be giving more to communities and to a country on a National Day like this,” he added.
