HMC provides advanced care for high-risk pregnancies

It also provides cutting-edge fetal surveillance and perinatal care ensure optimal outcomes for both mothers and babies using Innovative approaches to crisis management in trauma-related resuscitation, hypertensive disorders, and metabolic conditions during pregnancy. 

The development and expansion of these specialised services are closely aligned with Qatar’s National Health Strategy 2024–2030, which prioritises maternal and child health. By enhancing access to advanced critical care for high-risk pregnancies, HMC directly contributes to the strategy’s goals of improving population health, delivering high-quality care, and building a sustainable, integrated healthcare system.

This supports Qatar’s vision of positioning itself as a global leader in healthcare innovation while ensuring that every mother and child receives the highest standard of care. 

As part of these efforts, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at WWRC successfully hosted the High Risk and Critical Care Obstetrics Conference 2025 on September 12 and 13, 2025, at the Le Royal Meridien, Lusail, Doha. The two-day event brought together international experts, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders for a groundbreaking exchange of knowledge and clinical expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies and obstetric critical care. 

The conference featured keynote lectures, panel discussions, and case-based learning sessions. Topics included obstetric haemorrhage management, hypertensive disorders, maternal cardiac conditions, critical care innovations, latest clinical practices, ethical considerations, and innovative care models. 

The discussions brought together Qatari experts as well as world-class speakers. Interactive panels provide participants with opportunities to engage directly with experts and explore strategies for enhancing maternal and neonatal outcomes. 

Chair of the Conference and Chair of Obstetrics at WWRC, Dr. Salwa M Abuyaqoub, said, “This conference demonstrated how multidisciplinary collaboration can transform care for high-risk obstetric patients. It showcased not only global expertise but also HMC’s specialized services, which position Qatar as a leader in advanced maternal healthcare.”
