Foreign Minister H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a telephone conversation with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres. They discussed enhancing cooperation between Qatar and the UN in all areas of mutual interest. The Foreign Minister briefed the Secretary-General on the latest developments in the Gulf crisis and the measures taken by the siege countries against Qatar.
The UN Secretary-General underlined the need for all Member States to support the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and expressed his thanks for Qatar’s sustained support for the Organisation over the past years. The Foreign Minister highlighted importance given by Qatar to the work of the UNRWA, lauding its role in serving the Palestinian people and stressing Qatar’s continued support for the Organisation.
The Foreign Minister also held telephone conversation with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian and German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel.
Both sides discussed bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them, the latest developments in the Gulf crisis, and a number of issues of common concern,
