Doha, Qatar: The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) has unveiled Part Two of its joint white paper with the GSMA, titled “Securing Qatar’s Telecom Networks: An Asset-Based Response,” reinforcing Qatar’s commitment to advancing the security and resilience of its digital infrastructure.
The newly released paper examines the evolving cybersecurity challenges facing modern mobile telecommunications networks, with a particular emphasis on the growing threat landscape associated with 5G technology. NCSA, in a post on X, said that it outlines the latest approaches to identifying and mitigating cyber risks while promoting a proactive, asset-based strategy for protecting critical telecom infrastructure.
According to the NCSA, the white paper provides a practical framework designed to help mobile network operators strengthen their cybersecurity readiness. The framework supports operators in identifying critical assets, assessing vulnerabilities, and implementing effective cyber risk management practices to safeguard network operations against emerging threats.
The publication forms part of the NCSA’s broader efforts to enhance national cyber resilience through collaboration with international partners and the adoption of global best practices. By working closely with the GSMA, the agency aims to support the secure deployment and operation of next-generation telecommunications networks while ensuring the reliability and continuity of digital services.
