A group of civil society organisations and sympathisers of the State of Qatar held a protest to denounce the unjust siege, at the United Nations Plaza in Geneva. The demonstrators raised the flags of Qatar and pictures of its leadership during protest, shouting slogans calling for the lifting of siege and respect of the sovereignty of Qatar. The protest was widely covered by the Swiss media.
In El Salvador, Vinicio Cerezo, Secretary-General of the Central American Integration System (SICA), who served as former president of Guatemala from 1986 to1991, has expressed the organisation’s support with Qatar to face the media attack and false accusations. Since 2014, Qatar holds observer status in SICA from outside the countries of the region and was the first GCC, Arab and Islamic country to join it.
