Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met at his Office at Al Bahr Palace yesterday with Gen Joseph Leonard Votel, Commander of US Central Command (Centcom), and his accompanying delegation. Talks dealt with bilateral strategic relations and means of enhancing them in the area of defence cooperation in particular. The meeting reviewed the joint operations between the Qatar Armed Forces and US forces in the field of combating terrorism and maintenance of security and stability in the region. Gen Joseph Leonard Votel thanked the Emir on Qatar’s pivotal role in this field. The Emir and the US Commander also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common.
