Doha, Qatar: The Information Systems Department of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has achieved a significant institutional and digital milestone by obtaining the internationally recognised ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to excellence, governance, and continuous improvement.

The certification marks the latest in a series of achievements for the ministry, following its successful attainment of ISO/IEC 27001 for Information Security Management and ISO/IEC 20000 for IT Service Management. Together, these certifications strengthen the ministry’s position as a leading government entity in adopting global best practices for digital governance and technology management.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification recognises the ministry’s efforts to enhance internal processes, improve institutional performance, and raise the quality and reliability of digital services. It complements the ministry’s information security framework under ISO/IEC 27001:2022, which safeguards data and digital assets, and its IT service management system under ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018, which ensures efficient service delivery, responsiveness, and technical support.

The ministry said the achievement reflects the successful development of an integrated technology ecosystem aligned with the highest international standards in quality, security, and operational sustainability. It also demonstrates the ministry’s ability to manage its technical operations efficiently through structured methodologies that meet evolving global requirements.

The certification further underscores the ministry’s commitment to fostering a culture of institutional excellence and continuous improvement by implementing internationally recognised quality management practices. These efforts are aimed at delivering reliable, efficient, and user-focused digital services to the community and across the ministry’s administrative units.

The accomplishment aligns with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ 2025–2030 strategic plan, which places institutional and digital transformation among its top priorities and seeks to establish an integrated system of religious services built on quality, innovation, and sustainable impact.

It also supports the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly in the areas of human development, strengthening government institutions, and advancing a knowledge-based economy through the effective use of technology and enhanced public service delivery.

The ministry noted that obtaining ISO 9001:2015 was the result of sustained efforts by national professionals and specialised technical teams within the Information Systems Department. Administrative and technical processes underwent comprehensive audits and evaluations in accordance with rigorous international standards.

By successfully meeting these requirements, the department demonstrated its adherence to best practices in quality management across all stages of system planning, design, operation, and modernisation, while also strengthening workforce capabilities, risk management frameworks, and business continuity measures.
